This is the best recipe for a New Southern Tradition. Mixing bluegrass musicians and self taught southern artists and artisans is a combination worth savoring Up to 150 artists and artisans will brighten the historic charm of Stone Mountain Village. A small stage will showcase group Contra dances and bluegrass music, plus bluegrass street jams will be featured throughout the festival. This event will bring much needed attention to the restoration of this historic village.

Location: 922 Main Street (for GPS directions)
Stone Mountain, GA 30083
Times: Sat., March 31 from 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.
Music: Bluegrass music on stage plus Contra dancing
Jam sessions on the sidewalk
Admission: Free to attend

We love our local musicians and artists and look forward to this becoming a New Southern Tradition

This event will showcase approximately 150 artists and artisans plus over a dozen bluegrass musicians. The festival is organized and run by artist volunteers who understand the needs and challenges of artists and how best to connect with consumers during this difficult economy.

We strongly support local artists, says Randall Fox, V.P. of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. With this event, it gives artists an opportunity to show their work in a completely unique environment in the background of the historic renovations in Stone Mountain Village.

This band is one of the most self-sustaining bands you will ever meet! From writing, recording, producing and mastering their own tracks, to setting up charities and their own music video production company!

They have their own studio and record everything themselves, they also record and remix songs for other bands.

With strong support from the Hertfordshire Mercury, Gareth of BBC Introducing for BBC 3 Counties Radio and Big Scott of Radio Cardiff, they have been described as being an amalgamation of The Clash and The Fugees and have been hailed ‘Brilliant and Amazing’ for their crazy ideas, unique music and dedication.

After sharing the stage with the likes of Frank Turner, Sonic Boom Six and Leftover Crack, they have gathered fans from all over the UK, including members of The King Blues and Tina from S Club 7!

They have headlined the arena tent at Bearded Theory festival, they have been played on radio stations all over the world (Germany, USA, Canada, France, Wales, UK, New Zealand, Australia, etc), and they have recently played a live set on BBC 3 counties radio for BBC Introducing at the end of last year.

In the summer they plan on recording a music video which sees them playing in an open top double-decker bus on the streets of London, and giving their demos away for free in London high street music stores.

Windows Media player is a great piece of software to play music and watch movies on. If your CD player is broke then listening to music on this is an excellent alternative.

How we listen and buy music is changing forever. Most of the record shops have disappeared and CDs will probably go the same way. Downloading music will soon become the most popular way to buy listen to music.

If you have Windows Media Player installed on your computer and you want to find out how you can use it to listen to music then follow these steps:

Step One

Open Windows Media Player by clicking on Start – All Programs and then click on the Windows Media Player icon.

Step Two

When the player screen appears you can make it bigger by clicking on the maximize button. This can be found at the top right hand corner of your screen. You can identify it as it has two squares together with one in front of the other. It will be situated between the X button and the underscore button.

Step Three

You will see a horizontal toolbar on top. Click on the Library tab and then click on music.

Step Four

You will see a list of music files appear. This is where you have stored your music. From the list select the folder that contains the music that you want to play.

Step Five

When you have chosen the file double click with your mouse to begin the playback process. Windows Media Player has a number of features that you can use to make improve your listening experience. Here is a brief description of what these tools can do:

Playback and pause: Below the screen you will see a control bar that enables you to play and pause the music. This can be done by pressing on the round circular button in the centre. This button will play and pause the music.

Volume Control: You can adjust the volume of the music you are playing with the volume control which is found to the right hand side of the playback and pause button. The volume control is very simple and easy to use as all you have to do is move the arrow on the bar to the right to increase the volume and move to the left to decrease the volume.

If you are playing an album with many songs then you can use the skip command to move from one song to another rather than playing them all. The skip command can be found by pressing on the arrow buttons that are left and right of the play/pause button.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) July 1, 2008

The system now seamlessly upgrades Windows XP users to Windows Media Player 11 and makes it even easier to download music from the SpiralFrog site. The updated Windows Media Player includes enhanced search and media management technologies, a visually driven user interface, and optimized support for portable music players. Both digital tracks and music videos from SpiralFrog require at least Windows Media Player 10 to play.

“SpiralFrog is about creating a complete music experience, and offering the latest in Microsoft technology ensures that the site is as easy to use as possible,” said Joe Mohen, chairman of SpiralFrog.

The update requires no action on the part of existing members or first time users. The SpiralFrog download manager automatically determines if a user’s PC needs the upgrade and then seamlessly downloads it.

SpiralFrog, which launched last September, has rapidly become an alternative to illegal peer-to-peer piracy sites with more than 6 million monthly unique visitors. SpiralFrog licenses digitized tracks from both major and independent labels and underlying composition rights directly from music owners. Major brand advertising on the site covers the costs for users, who can download an unlimited amount of songs and videos for free.

How SpiralFrog Works

SpiralFrog enables anyone to download unlimited songs and music videos, with new content added weekly. To access the free content, users must only fill out a simple and quick registration form. As part of the SpiralFrog experience, users see relevant, targeted advertising that does not interfere with their enjoyment of music.

Songs and videos downloaded on SpiralFrog will play on Windows PCs running XP and Vista. Members can download to their PCs and synchronize their music with portable music players or music-enabled phones that support Windows Media digital rights management.

About SpiralFrog

Headquartered in New York, SpiralFrog (http://www.spiralfrog.com) is a Web-based advertising-supported music experience that combines music discovery tools with free and legal downloads of audio and video content licensed directly from the catalogs of the world’s leading music owners. SpiralFrog offers music-lovers a compelling alternative to illicit file-sharing and pirate sites, with a secure environment for them to satisfy their unyielding passion and thirst for music and entertainment information at no cost.

LAFAYETTE–Whether you were rocking Cross Colors, looking to Spike Lee as you tried to Do The Right Thing or tuning into “In Living Color” for the latest moves, you were always eager to find that thing that kept you on the cutting edge of what was hot and new and now back then. But, it wasn’t just the show or the styles that made the 80s and 90s memorable, it was the music featured on the shows and movies and the artists that rocked the styles. It was the music and style of such hit making groups and artists like award-winning R&B singer Keith Sweat, trailblazing R&B girl group SWV, hit making R&B brother duos K-Ci & Jojo and Guy and legendary rapper Doug E. Fresh that was a part of the fabric of our lives and turned our culture upside down. And these are the artists featured on the Fresh Music Festival, with Doug E. Fresh serving as host.

The Fresh Music Festival will not be the typical concert, but an old school throwback party of epic proportion. It will give fans an opportunity to party and party hard with their favorite artists. From coast to coast, it will bring audiences back to the good ‘ole days as the largest old school party kicks off. Fans will get a front row seat and come face to face with the music and the men and women that changed the R&B game. For one unforgettable night on one stage some of the greatest groups in R&B history will assemble together. From start to finish, the 2012 Fresh Music Festival will bring back the flavor of the old school concert experience complete with spectacular staging, lighting and theatrical effects indicative of concerts from back in the day.

“Concert goers have not witnessed a show like this in many years,” said Gary Guidry, CEO of G²Events and Fresh Music Festival creator and producer. “From the staging to the artist line-up this will be a ‘top-shelf’ show. Fans have been waiting for something of this magnitude. From the moment we put tickets on sale in the first 12 markets, we saw immediate extraordinary box office numbers especially in markets usually deemed as “walk-ups.”

The 2012 Fresh Music Festival Tour is being produced by G² Events. This is the premiere outing for the tour which kicks off in Lafayette, Louisiana over Memorial Day Weekend on May 25 at the CAJUN DOME 444 Cajundome, Lafayette, LA 70506 . The tour will hit around 50 cities during its entire run this year. Tickets start at $29.50, plus applicable taxes and fees. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, via phone at 1-800-745-3000, online at ticketmaster.com or freshmusicfestival.com or visit the CAJUN DOME box office. For more info on the tour, log onto, freshmusicfestival.com or call the box office at 1-337-265-2104.

People have fallen in love alongside their songs, made love to their songs, sealed marriage vows with their songs and made babies to their songs. So, whether they had you feenin’, going round and round, temporarily weak in the knees or sweating, there is no disputing that Keith Sweat, SWV, K-Ci & Jojo, Guy and Doug E. Fresh had you jamming non-stop. You couldn’t turn on the radio, watch a movie or go to a party without hearing or wanting to dance to one of their songs. And on the 2012 Fresh Music Festival, they will have you partying all night long.

“With so many new artists rising on the music scene today, R&B has somewhat lost its love and appreciation for real singing with real musicians and bands,” said Guidry. “I wanted to rekindle the fire in fans that I’ve always had for R&B music. What you see materializing through this festival is my dream concert and I’m hoping that there are thousands of fans like me who feel the same way.”

Digital Music Download. Ever since file-sharing programs entered the hard drives of our computers, people have wanted the best place for a digital music download. Music companies have had to figure out what to do about illegal music downloads and the music download web site. The legal battle continues but they have fought back by offering the consumer a legal alternative, the music download site to get a digital music download. These sites let you get what music you want, from who you want, when you want.

These music download sites include, believe it or not, Napster, with over 500,000 digital music downloads, eMusic, where you can get 50 free music downloads just for starters, Musicmatch, who has a great membership package, Realrhapsody, which offers a very nice two-week free trial, and one of my favorites and their “Always Low Prices” is the Wal-Mart music download, with songs as low as .88 cents.

Legal music download sites or pay-per-song music programs let you pay for the songs you want. No more buying entire CD’s just for that one maybe two popular hits. Prices range from .79 to .99 per song. If you want an entire CD it only costs around $10 through these digital music download sites.

Some of these programs feature more than just music downloads.
For instance, Realrhapsody and Musicmatch offer intenet radio which feature many programmable, commercial-free radio stations.
Check out the information provided about these legal music download sites and compare, because it can make a difference in the price you pay. Of course you want to find the price that best fits your budget, but you should also check and see what else these sites have to offer before you make your final decision.

Ultimately you will be able to start or add to your current music library with high-quality, legal digital music downloads from legitimate music download sites. The great benefit is that once you purchase your music you may download and burn free musc CDs or transfer it to a portable listening device.

Top Digital Music Download Sites to find Legal High-Quality Downloads

Wal-Mart…gift cards and .88 cent downloads
Napster…lots of music downloads and free trial
eMusic…50 free music downloads.WOW
Musicmatch..commercial-free radio and much, much more
Realrhapsody..14-day free trial

In BET’s show The Game, they play memorable, relevant, provocative music. On Facebook, people are talking about the songs associated with the show. Sometimes the music is used to foreshadow. In episode six, the show opened with Melanie saying she could not believe that Derwin was spending so much time in a court custody battle with Janay. In the background, El DeBarge’s song Time Will Reveal was playing. The song helped the writers inform the audience that something would be revealed about that situation. Sure enough, Derwin was lying and by the time the episode ended, it was all revealed. The applicable music placement makes it easier to connect with the show.

Also in episode six, there was an amazing song by a woman named Mackenzie Capri. It was called Back Door. In the song, a woman debates whether she should stay with her man saying “Should I stay or should I go? Somebody please let me know. One thing’s fa fa fa show, don’t let him catch me sneaking out the back door.” The beat on this song is nice and the artist sings well. It’s great Rhythm and Blues type music. Melanie certainly had every right to think of leaving after Derwin’s lie. It’s a universal message for anyone who is or has been in a relationship. This song has now been released for purchase on Amazon and iTunes.

In episode seven, Malik goes to rehab. He spends most of the episode in denial about being in rehab and even decides to leave rehab for a brief stint. Jason and Derwin finally convince him to return to rehab. In the background, as Malik gets out of the car to walk toward the rehab facility, there is a song playing. No one knows the name of it. People think it’s called “Go Away”. This song is being talked about by fans of the show. People want to know who wrote it, where they can buy it, how to get the words, and so on. There is even rumor that the song was posted on YouTube at one time and then immediately taken down. My suspicion is that they are working on some type of mechanism for getting the music from the shows to the fans. I hope this is the case. What I know for sure is that there are lots of fans of this song.

BET is using music to help tell stories in its TV show The Game. I like it. Music is universal. Universal music messages with universal storylines help to make a great, entertaining show. I love music so BET’s approach works for me.
